Careers in the Healing Arts
Our focus is on your dreams, your career, and your success. Along with teaching you skills in the healing arts, we will also work with you to ensure your future career as a licensed massage therapist and/or as a practitioner of energy/somatic healing.
At Elements of Wellness School of Massage and Wellness Center, we assist and support you in making decisions about your new career. We consider this a critical part of our teaching for professionals. For instance, we provide information regarding massage therapy positions available within a 100-mile radius.

Where are massage therapists and somatic practitioners employed? Spas and health clubs, doctor’s offices, sports medicine, pain clinics, chiropractic and naturopathic clinics, and wellness centers. A high percentage of massage therapists and somatic healers are self-employed. We offer continued support and education for those considering self-employed so when and if this is the right step for you, you’re prepared.

Why is this a growing field? The medical benefits of massage and energy/somatic work are becoming more widely known. As a result, more naturopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and physicians will refer their patients to massage therapists and energy/somatic professionals. The pandemic caused a shift in our field. For most individuals, isolating led to an increase in the need for healing touch. Most massage therapist and somatic practitioners are busier now than ever before. The wellness field has grown 5-10% yearly for decades and is now a top priority for over 80% of the US population.

What does it take to be successful? Competition for clients is strong. Massage therapists and energy/somatic professionals need an understanding of good business practices to succeed, including actively marketing your services and growing your client base through good word of mouth. The emphasis on the details of massage and somatic work also shines through our graduates and into there practice.
