Benefits of Massage Therapy

Here is a list of some of the benefits of receiving massage therapy. Please contact us with any questions about items listed and not listed below.  We are here to help!

  • Relaxation – Massage has been proven to help assist the body into a state of relaxation.  This response lets the body be in rest-and-recovery mode to rejuvenate the mind and body.  Throughout a massage there is also an endorphin release, which is our body’s “feel good” hormone.

  • Decreases stress and anxiety – Reducing stress can greatly improve quality of life.  Reduced stress helps lower blood pressure, lower the heart rate, and improves overall functions of every body system.

  • Improves posture, flexibility and movement – Massage helps alleviate muscle tension and in turn improves posture, joint flexibility, and range of motion.  With decreased muscle tension/tightness (muscle relaxation) comes decreased pain and discomfort.

  • Chronic and common problems – Massage helps with common complaints such as headaches, backaches, trouble sleeping, and more.

  • Increases circulation and easier breathing – Massage increases circulation on all levels and allows for healthier body system function.  Bringing new and freshly oxygenated blood throughout the body helps to push out toxins.  Breath is our body’s most important need.  Massage therapy can help increase deeper breathing into the diaphragm and helps our relaxation response respond quicker and last longer.

  • Helps healing after a trauma and/or injury – With a doctor’s permission after an injury, surgery, or trauma massage can help promote healthy scar formation, decrease swelling, reduce pain, and calm the mind for better more comfortable sleep.
