Program Components

Massage Therapy Education: 
Each Core is 9 weeks in length and consists of 200 hours of study. Students complete either an 800 or 1000 hour program. An overview of the program components is below.

Massage Therapy Education: The 800 credit hour program consists of four 9 week sessions delineated as Core 1, Core 2, Core 3, and Core 4. Students completing this program will be awarded the MTE 800 Certificate of completion. The optional 1000 credit hour program consists of an additional 200 hour Core 5 Intensive study in a chosen area of specialization, as well as intensive preparation for the National Certification Examination. Students completing the 1000 credit hour program will be awarded the MTE 1000 Certificate and will be highly competitive, highly sought after professionals.

Core 1
Massage basics including foundations of touch, anatomy and physiology, Osteology and Myology, kinesiology, seated massage, clinical charting, business fundamentals of communication, Yoga, stretching, meditation, and movement, tutorials and professional massage experience.

Core 2
Advanced massage techniques, deep tissue and trigger point massage, the business of practice management, Ethics and massage law, clinical practice,  anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, Yoga, stretching, meditation, and movement, tutorials and professional massage experience.

Core 3
Myofascial and somatic techniques, marketing a massage practice, introduction to Asian bodywork therapies, clinical practice, Yoga, stretching, meditation, movement, tutorials and professional massage experience.

Core 4
Energy play, massage for prenatal and the elderly or disabled, Swedish massage, body mobilization and stretching massage, clinical practice, CPR and first aid, Yoga, stretching, meditation, movement, tutorials and professional massage experience.

Intensive Study
200 hours of instruction designed for individualized focused study, exam preparation, clinical experience, and specialization options.
